1. How can I get in a class?

After reading the information on our homepage, and enrollment procedures, complete and submit our registration form. Or, call (757)-373-4752 for more information.


2. What do I need to bring to the classroom for the Rider Training Courses?

For the classroom session you need to bring: - A PEN! - And GLASSES... if you need them for viewing slides, video monitors and/or paperwork.


3. What do I need when riding the motorcycle?

To participate in the riding activities, the following is required: Long denim pants or material of equivalent durability (no holes, cutouts, sweats, or tights) Leather gloves that cover the fingers and wrist (no cloth or latex gloves) Sturdy shoes or boots that cover the ankle (no spike heels, platform shoes or cloth shoes) Athletic shoes ("new style" that cover the ankle bone are acceptable, old style converse shoes are not acceptable.) A long sleeve shirt or jacket. Eye protection (sunglasses, eye glasses, goggles, and/or face shield). Bring a snack or lunch. if you would like and bring plenty to drink.


4. Do you supply the motorcycles?

We provide motorcycles for the Basic Rider Course.


5. Do I need a helmet?

-We have helmets if you need one. -You are free to bring your own DOT approved full-faced or 3/4 helmet. Half helmets are not allowed on any Virgian rider Training Program range. -You will need eye protection.


6. Do I get a copy of the textbook for the Rider Course?

Printed materials will be provided.


7. How old do I have to be to learn to ride?

You must be at least 16 years old and bring a parent or legal guardian to the first class to sign necessary consent forms.You must also: - Be in good health - Be able to ride a bicycle - Understand basic written and oral English


8. What size bikes do you use?

We use 100cc and up training motorcycles.


9. Do I have to be a certain height?

- We have no minimum height restrictions. - However, riders are required to be able to touch both feet to the ground while straddling the motorcycle. - Riders must also be able to hold the bike up when stopping or walking the motorcycle. - We have motorcycles with low slung seats suitable for people who need to be closer to the ground.


10. Can I ride my own bike (or scooter)?

For the Basic Rider Course: Students are required to use the training motorcycles provided. Special consideration may be given to someone requesting the use of their own private motorcycle provided written request is submitted 30 days prior to the start of the class, detailing the reasons necessary for the special consideration. A determination will be made by the Program Administrator. Under NO circumstances will any motorcycle larger than a 350 cc's be allowed on the BRC range.
